What is the Whole Brain Design Template for Adult Learners?

This is a guide for how to apply the whole brain approach to your design projects. Feel free to adjust as appropriate.

How to use this template:

Complete the following template after designing training to ensure you have created content that meets the different learning styles and levels of your learners.

The layout of the template represents the four brain quadrants as described in Ned Hermann’s Whole Brain methodology. Included are three adjectives to describe each quadrant with questions under each section.

These questions are regarding your training design as it relates to that quadrant. The questions are not inclusive, but can be used as a template to understand how to design content that will satisfy the requirements of that quadrant.

Next to each quadrant list the appropriate information. These activities are a starting point to help you verify that your design in fact includes all components necessary to execute an effective whole brain training curriculum.
