1. Adults need to be able to APPLY their learning

When we provide adults with learning or just information, they need to be able to apply this learning to a real-life situation or scenario. This is also referred to as 'relevance'.
The use of scenarios to explain particular topics and for learners to view how to apply their knowledge can be really useful in this regard.
Even better, though, is to task learners with applying what they have learned to their own personal or work life or a situation that they've experienced themselves.
