Traditional training sessions have usually involved a teacher or trainer standing in a room full of learners over the course of a morning or full day. Teachers would present the day’s lessons with breakout sessions, and by the end of the day, everyone has had the exact same training. This is considered a successful, but exhausting day.

Fast forward to today, and you will find that more and more training sessions and professional development don’t necessarily need to be done in-person. There are countless websites and companies that offer online learning and development from the comfort of the learner’s home and at their own pace. While going fully digital might not be an option for you yet, I’ve included some ways for you to add more technology in small ways all the way to full integration.

The first place to start is to determine how much technology you plan to use in your instruction. You can use a small amount including some small apps, websites, and extensions. On the other hand, using technology for everything is another option. The biggest question you need to ask yourself is about how much technology you are comfortable using. You will have to learn the new tech and play with it for yourself to see if you like it and learn how to use it.
