Earlier in my career, one of my responsibilities was to produce live, eight-hour training webinars. In this role, I did a lot to make sure that the events went smoothly for the instructor and attendees. Success came from preparation - how do you make sure the event is set up correctly to minimize problems before the event started? Having a written process and advance notice always helped. A live producer for your event can be the difference between success and failure. Though the author speaks primarily of webinar producers, a lot of these ideas transfer to other types of virtual events.
