This learning path was created for those who need advice on incorporating technologies into instruction. There are many options, with more coming out daily, or so it seems. Incorporating technology like computer-based training (also known as eLearning), videoconferencing, learning management systems and the like can expand the boundaries of your learning experience for those who live elsewhere, which can also save a company travel and lodging costs for remote workers.

In section one, we will explore the technological options available.
Section two will cover the tools for designing learning products, such as web-based job aids and electronic performance subsystems, as well as tools to use to create a tech-based redesign of old courses.

By the end of this learning path, you will have a better idea of how to begin incorporating technology into instruction. However, please note that this is a cursory beginning. In a field with so many changes, more technological solutions will be developed. Always come back to considering those taking part in your instruction; what appears to be a great solution can also hinder your learning objectives if you use them incorrectly.

By the end of this learning path, you will know:

  • How to use the various technological options for expanding the boundaries of education past your classroom.

  • Reasons to include technology in your learning experience.

  • How to find different tools to help you design and redesign learning objects for your students.
  • Let's begin.
